History

Since 1955, Macedonian Author’s Agency LLC has been a cornerstone of copyright protection in North Macedonia. With decades of experience and a strong professional reputation, we provide comprehensive protection and legal support to authors, artists, and institutions.

Our Story:

1955.

In January 1955

the Yugoslav Author’s Agency was established with its headquarters in Belgrade and representative offices across the republics. In the same year, the Author’s Agency – Representative Office for Macedonia was founded in the Republic of Macedonia.

1974.
Following the adoption of the Constitution of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) in

and amendments to enterprise regulations, the Macedonian representative office was reorganized into the OOUR Author’s Agency of Macedonia, operating as part of the Yugoslav Author’s Agency. During this period, the Joint Services Unit in Belgrade managed matters concerning foreign authors in Yugoslavia, as well as domestic authors abroad.

1991.
After the dissolution of Yugoslavia in 1991
the Yugoslav Author’s Agency ceased to exist. With the independence of the Republic of Macedonia and the privatization of socially owned capital, the Agency was transformed into a joint-stock company.
2001.

The Agency was reorganized as a limited liability

under its full legal name: Trade Company for the Protection of Copyright and Related Rights – Macedonian Author’s Agency LLC Skopje.
